anode and cathodic protection must be adopted to get good coating.
5. The required current density is very high, sometimes is dozens of
times higher than that of the normal plating process. The voltage of tank is
also relatively high during chromium plating process, it usually reaches to 12V
or higher, comparatively, others just require 6V.
6. The temperature
and current density are controlled strictly. When remaining the current density
unchanged, the temperature can only be changed range from 1 to2℃; when keeping temperature unchanged, the
current density just can be altered range from 2 to3A/d㎡.
7. The anode of chromium plating is not chromium metal, but insoluble
anode such as lead, lead-tin alloy or lead-antimony alloy.
8. Because of the easy passivation of chromium layer, power outage
during the plating process is not allowed normally.
